For years, I lived the life I thought I was supposed to. Be kind. Work hard. Do the right thing. Smile, even when it hurts. On the outside, everything looked fine. Inside, I was exhausted, disconnected, and quietly aching for something real.
What I didn’t realise was that I was living from conditioning, not truth. I was performing instead of being, ticking boxes instead of feeling alive. The turning point came when I stopped asking “What’s wrong with me?” and started asking “What feels true for me?”
Truth doesn’t always roar; sometimes it whispers. It is the knot in your stomach when you say yes but mean no, the sigh of relief when you finally stop pretending, the spark you feel when you do something that is purely you.
Finding my truth did not happen overnight. It was a process of unlearning, shedding, and remembering who I really was beneath the expectations. It was messy, liberating, and absolutely worth it.
Here is what I learned along the way:
My Top Tips for Finding Your Truth
1. Get quiet enough to hear it.
Truth speaks softly. Slow down, unplug, and listen to what your body and heart are trying to tell you.
2. Notice where you feel heavy.
When something drains your energy or feels off, it is often a sign you are out of alignment. Pay attention to that; it is your truth nudging you back home.
3. Stop saying yes when you mean no.
Every time you betray your own needs, you drift further from your truth. Boundaries are not selfish; they are sacred.
4. Be curious, not critical.
Self-judgment blocks clarity. Treat your confusion as curiosity. Ask, “What is this feeling trying to show me?”
5. Speak it, even if your voice shakes.
Truth grows stronger when it is expressed. Say the thing you have been holding in. It is your freedom calling.
Finding your truth is not about becoming someone new. It is about coming home to who you have always been. The moment you start honouring that inner voice, even in small ways, life begins to feel lighter, freer, and far more real.
